“The T.L.P. Foundation” – A Story of Legacy and Love

Founded in 2009 by a passionate Clark University dual-degree graduate student, Bakin'-n-Makin' began as a heartfelt project to share beloved Southern recipes, cooking tips, and the healing power of food. What started in the kitchen has grown into a vibrant movement for community empowerment, personal transformation, and economic renewal.

At Bakin'-n-Makin', we believe food is more than nourishment — it’s a bridge to well-being, creativity, and connection. Our desserts—rich cakes, handmade cookies, soulful pies, and nostalgic candies—carry the flavors of tradition and the promise of change. But the real magic happens behind the scenes.

We operate as a safe space for collaboration, healing, and growth, offering on-site training, mental health support, and fair-wage employment to residents—regardless of their work history. We champion second chances and fresh starts, creating pathways to stability through meaningful work and shared purpose.

Our social mission goes beyond the kitchen. A portion of our proceeds fuel the T.L.P. Foundation’s initiatives in affordable housing, childcare, mental health services, and tech-based education, reinforcing our commitment to long-term community development.
